The management team of Five Star Fabrics had all been involved in the curtain and fabric retail sector for a number years, having worked in several similar businesses. With their skills, knowledge of the market and fundamental passion for the products they were able to develop an exciting and improved superstore concept for curtain and fabric retail.
Having developed the concept, they approached SEGF to provide the initial capital for the venture. We were impressed with the broad range of skills the team evidenced, their enthusiasm and strong track record in the sector; having previously opened a number of successful stores for other chains.
SEGF invested £250,000 to finance the initial start-up costs, first store fit-out, stocking and working capital, with a further investment of £190,000 to fund the opening of the second Five Star store. |
