Synermed develops and markets clinical chemistry diagnostics systems for both human and veterinary markets.  Of particular interest to SEGF was the continuing success of Synermed's analyser for veterinary in-practice testing, as well as the new "Well Pet" programme developed by Synermed that allows for low-cost annual wellness scans on pets.

The management team at Synermed Europe, led by Dr Paddy Maguire, acquired the company from its US parent, Synermed Inc. in April 2006. Since then SEGF has worked closely with management to drive the business forward and strengthen the management team, introducing Chairman, Douglas Evans.
